Volvo Trucks is part of the Volvo Group, one of the world's leading manufacturers of heavy commercial vehicles and diesel engines.
Volvo Trucks has been active in Russia since 1973. In 1989, the 1000th jubilee truck tractor for the company "Sovavto" was delivered. In 1998, the Volvo Vostok joint-stock company was registered, uniting the Volvo divisions in Russia: Volvo Trucks, Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Penta, Volvo Buses. In 2009 the Volvo Group plant in Kaluga was opened. The capacity of the plant is 15,000 trucks a year. Investments in the project exceeded 100 million euros. In 2014, the Volvo Group plant for welding and painting cabins was opened.
